Remove Text Ads from GMail

Do you find the text ads in GMail to be annoying? If you do, you can use Firefox to hide the ads from displaying.

This trick uses CSS and the Firefox configuration file named userContent.css . Before we start modifying our userContent.css file, I would recommend that you install an extension named ChromeEdit that simplifies the process of modifying your Firefox configuration files. So before you enter the CSS code listed below, go and install this extension (note: you’ll need to restart your browser after installation, so you may want to bookmark this page).

Now that you have CromeEdit installed, click on the Firefox Tools menu and then click on the menu item labeled Edit User Files. A new window will appear that has five tabs across the top. Click on the tab that is labeled userContent.css. Next copy the CSS code below and paste it into the userContent.css file, then click the Save button.

The above rules make use of the *!important* property value to override any rules that may already exist within the page that is being loaded. In the first rule, GMail has an element with an id of rh and we are setting the tables that have a class equal to metatable within that element, to not display (ie . display:none)

A word of caution, we are only hiding the ads from displaying. They are actually still there, just not visible. This means that Google is still indexing your email messages to provide you with “targetted ads”. It is also worth noting that as this hack is based upon creating CSS rules for existing GMail code, it is very possible that this hack will break as GMail continues to evolve.

Google's PageRank was created at Stanford University by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Even though Google's conceived and implemented PageRank when their search engine was still new, the vast majority of Internet users (even those who use Google daily) are entirely ignorant of what PageRank is. For the most part they have neither read about it nor even seen it mentioned. It is still a common misconception that Google, as well as Yahoo!, spits out search results based solely on the number of times a word appears on a page.

This is wrong. Many of the older search engines, AltaVista for instance, did perform searches based solely on the number of times a word appears on a page before and during the first wave of the Internet boom. However, the frequency of a word alone will yield poor results for almost any search. This approach is vulnerable to "keyword stuffing" (the webmaster's placement of the word you are targeting over and over on a single page for no inherent reason).

Google has changed the way search engines return results with its PageRank algorithm, and other search engines are quickly following suit. Yahoo! used Google's results mixed with their own Yahoo! Directory until roughly two months ago, when they finished developing their own version of PageRank, named Web Rank. Yahoo! knew it could not return good enough results to retain customers without the help of Google. Therefore, if it wished to become independent again, it had to face facts and implement a PageRank-like algorithm.

The idea is, one Google advanced search string is filetype: . It is used to find out any file only. Now I'm using this string as a tool,
I am searching for filetype:eml eml intext:"Content-Type: image/jpeg".
Look at the keyword. It is finding a file with extension eml and that eml should have a Line Content-Type: image/jpeg. Now remember the old days, MIME encoding of a email. When ever we are attaching a .jpg file, that line should come in .eml file. So, the full keyword is searching for filename any with extension .eml which is email file extension, and it should contain a .jpg file, may be some photo or other picture from the web. You can't belive if you are not checking it yourself.
